Mr Ziskind is a mechanical engineer, trained at Drexel Technical Institute (now Drexel University). He started ZipCo in 1978 as an environmental service design company. ZipCo designed, installed, and serviced air conditioning/heating and refrigeration systems for the restaurant industry.

In 1990, ZipCo started to design/build custom wine cellars for restaurant and residential customers. Our experience in refrigeration gave us a huge advantage over most in the wine cellar industry. ZipCo quickly became the cutting edge in wine cellar design and construction. As the wine cellar industry expanded, we have been major supplier’s of custom-designed equipment nationwide. We also supply companies within the wine cellar industry. ZipCo has designed some of the largest wine storage cellars in the country.

Scot has been married to Marcie Merhman-Ziskind for 34 years and has three adult sons. Our oldest son has had medical issues that have been helped with cannabis oil, which is the reason why I wanted to get involved in the birth of another industry.

With my special knowledge of temperature/humidity control, I can design and build the space that is needed to grow cannabis. I have worked for numerous grow operations in Colorado, California, and now Pennsylvania. ZipCo has assembled a group of people that specializes in securing grow or dispensary licenses. Each has expertise in a specific area: lighting, environmental controls, pharmaceutical design, and water and power consumption control design.

Mr Ziskind is charter member of The American Wine Storage Association and the American Society of Heating Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
